On Christmas Eve, the mysterious Drosselmeyer brings a Nutcracker doll as a gift for his goddaughter Marie. At midnight, the doll comes to life and finds himself in a battle against the Mouse King, determined to save Marie from him. Bolshoi Ballet performs the holiday dance extraordinaire, in a captured live broadcast in Ultra High definition at Cinestudio! With the romantic music of Tchaikovsky, this beautiful tale celebrates the limitless imagination of childhood, from the nefarious Rat King to the Sugar Plum Fairy. Boldly interpreted by the Bolshoi dancers, it will thrill the whole family with its (not strictly religious) enchantment.

“Something happens when you hear those first pizzicato strings. Call it magic, call it what you will. It gets you every time.” – Luke Jennings, The Guardian.
