IFC Films and Cinestudio present a single screening of the Director’s Cut of THE HOUSE THAT JACK BUILT, the new movie by Lars von Trier.
Von Trier is one of the founders of the Danish Dogma movement in the 1990s, and his films have won many awards at the Cannes Film Festival: Breaking the Waves (Grand Prix); Dancer in the Dark (Palme díOr; and Best Actress Aawards for Charlotte Gainsbourg in Antichrist, and Kirsten Dunst’s performance in Melancholia. The House That Jack Built stars Matt Dillon (Drugstore Cowboy) as an unusual serial killer who sees his bloodthirsty murders as works of art, and who dreams of creating a museum to hold evidence of his ‘masterpieces.’ Along the way we experience Jack’s chilling thoughts through a recurring conversation with the unknown character of Verge, played by Bruno Ganz (Wings of Desire).
“If you feel like screaming, you definitely should” – Matt Dillon as Jack.
“an often-horrifying dive into a psychotic internal monologue… it’s also possibly brilliant.” – Eric Kohn, Indiewire.com.
