Broadcast live December 6 from London’s National Theatre, Ralph Fiennes (The English Patient) and Sophie Okonedo (Christopher Robin) bring their charisma and acting prowess to Shakespeare’s great tragedy of politics, passion and power. As the hotly anticipated production opens, Caesar and his assassins are dead. General Mark Antony now rules alongside his fellow defenders of Rome. But at the fringes of a war-torn empire, the brilliant Egyptian Queen Cleopatra and the aging Mark Antony have fallen fiercely in love. In a tragic battle between the heart and the mind, personal and political, their mutual obsession becomes a catalyst for war.

“Full of detail, intelligence and humanity. Fiennes and Okonedo have a simmering chemistry…with an air of danger.” – Henry Hitchings, London Evening Standard.
