Eleven-year-old Tomo has been abandoned once again by her neglectful mother and seeks refuge at the home of the uncle she adores. But Uncle has a new and very tall girlfriend – the kindhearted, transgender woman Rinko. Rinko comes to love Tomo as her own daughter and the three form a close-knit family – in more ways than one. What does it mean to be a supportive, loving family? What does it take to accept others as well as one’s own self? This humorous, tender and poignant story – Japan’s first transgender-themed feature film – has the answers.
