A big welcome to First Year students to Cinestudio, an independent non-profit cinema that screens new, classic and international films seven days a week. And as part of Move-In Weekend, the 9:30 show of Good Will Hunting will be free to Trinity staff, faculty and students! You won’t believe how young Matt Damon and Ben Affleck (who won an Academy Award for their original screenplay) look in this 1997 hit set at MIT, where a young janitor (Damon) is a self-taught math genius who lacks the confidence to pursue his education. While he enjoys pursuing Harvard student Skylar (Minnie Driver) and hanging with homeboy Chucky (Affleck), he also gets a kick solving complicated equations on the chalkboard of Professor Lambeau (Stellan Skarsgard). Seeing his potential, Lambeau convinces the working-class wunderkind to get counseling from an unorthodox therapist (Robin Williams), who dives in deep to find the source of his inner conflicts. The film also won an Academy Award nomination for the late great Elliott Smith for Best Original Song (Miss Misery)
