Diane Keaton (The Godfather, Annie Hall, Something’s Gotta Give) stars in a new comedy that flips the Hollywood concept that older women pine for the days of their youth. Weighed down by other people’s expectations of what her life should look like, 30-year-old Mack Martin (Elizabeth Lail) reluctantly joins a Palm Springs bachelorette trip for her best friend. The morning after a wild party, Mack wakes up as her 70-year-old self, Rita (Diane Keaton). After recovering from the shock, Rita discovers there is much to be enjoyed at her age: flirting with a cute dog-walker (Dustin Milligan), sharing life’s ups and down with the women in her wine club, and letting go of the anxiety of becoming a success. Most of all, she revels in the freedom to be her true self. The 76-year-old Keaton is a marvel as she channels the trendy “coastal grandmother style,” still an actress with impeccable timing and elegant charm.

“Mack & Rita reflects a “spirit age” that allows younger people to honor their older souls.” Jenni Avens, – New York Times.
