We are thrilled that our series of the Bolshoi Ballet from Moscow has caught on with dancers and balletomanes past, present – and future. All of the above will be excited to see a new live version of Giselle by choreographer Alexei Ratmansky, now in its premiere season at the Bolshoi! Giselle opened in Paris in 1841, inspired by a Victor Hugo poem about a young peasant girl who dies of a broken heart after finding that her aristocratic love is betrothed. Eerie, supernatural Willis seek to dance her faithless lover to death.

“Bravo to Mr. Ratmansky and his collaborators: This is a Giselle that makes us see the ballet anew.” –Roslyn Sulcas, a New York Times Critics pick. Presented with one interval.
