When Alfonso Cuarón (Children of Men, Y Tu Mama Tambien) first dreamed up Roma, he saw it as a 70mm film, seen in a  cinema. We are thrilled to be able to grant his desire! Roma – nominated for 10 Academy Awards  – is a luminous portrait of one family in Mexico City in the early 1970s. While a mother, father and four children experience the world around them, from earthquakes, to political unrest, to American culture–their home revolves around their housekeeper, Cleo. As played by Yalitza Aparicio in her native Mixtec, Cleo is the central memory of Cuarón’s childhood, and of his movie’s beating heart.

New York Times Manohla Dargis Best Film of 2018.. . “It’s an expansive, emotional portrait of life…and a masterpiece.”
